Short-term course introduction

Intro.
  • A course for learners who want to intensively learn Korean and Korean culture during a        short period of time, such as summer vacation or short break
  • Providing various cultural programs to experience Korean culture in person

    ※ If students in one class is less than the minimum number, the class cannot be opened (at least 15 students in one class, maximum 20 students)

  • ※ The cultural experience class schedule can be changed depending on the circumstances.
 
 
 
Contents of the Korean language course (2 weeks example)
  • Classes focused on basic (Korean consonants/vowels) to basic vocabulary, grammar learning, and functions related to topics (speaking, listening, reading, writing) with the Dongguk Korean Language Short-term course textbook

  • ※ Korean language classes are conducted through e-books. Tablets and laptops are required
    ※ In principle, Korean classes are conducted in Korean, but instructors are assigned to English speakers
    ※ Cultural experiences can be added after prior consultation (requires prior inquiry)
 
 
 
Cultural experience
  • Schedule : on Wednesday afternoon (Date change available)
  • Time required : About 2 hours
  • Place : Separately conducted by each partner organization (outside school)
  • Programs (examples)
    - K-POP dance
    - Taekwondo (Korean martial Art)
    - Making Korean food
    - Gyeongbokgung Palace Tour with putting on Han-bok
    - Janggu experience (Korean traditional slim waist drum)
    ※ The program may be changed depending on future circumstances
  • Cultural experience is carried out by public transportation under the guidance of the  teacher in charge. (Individual transportation cards, etc. must be prepared)

  • ‘Dongguk Korean Short Course Textbook (e-book)’
  • Transportation card and transportation card case
  • Name tags, notebooks, and ballpoint pens of DIKL
  • A certificate of completion and prescribed souvenirs upon completion of the course (attendance rate of 80% or higher)

Check-in/Check-out time
  • Check-in: After 15:00 on the day before the semester starts (Sunday)
  • Check-out: Before 10:00 on the last day of class (Friday)
  • Dormitory allocation may not be possible depending on the status of dormitory vacancies. (Pre-consultation is essential)
